About the Leo Leung Orthopaedic Surgery Society

The Society is named for Leo Leung, a resident in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania from 1998 to 2002.

Dr. Leung was born in Hong Kong, attended Brown University as an undergraduate, and came to Penn as a medical student in 1994. He was a true gentleman and a consummate educator with an extraordinary work ethic that earned him such nicknames as “The Iron Leung” and “Leo the Lion.”

Tragically, Dr. Leung passed away suddenly in 2002 before completing his residency. The Society strives to honor his memory by maintaining his commitment to orthopaedic education at Penn.
