Overview

The UPenn Collaborative on Community Integration is the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) promoting Community Integration of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities. The Collaborative is based at the University of Pennsylvania, and directed by psychiatry faculty, Mark Salzer, Ph.D.

The goal of the Collaborative is to use research findings to foster the development of innovative programs that address social and institutional barriers to integration and promote equal participation at every level of society. In order to achieve this goal, the Collaborative has established a new precedent of teamwork, drawing on the expertise of a wide variety if stakeholders and organizations. Members of this team include an extended research group based at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Collaborative is funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, and is conducted in partnership with the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Horizon House.
