at Presbyterian Medical Center

Inpatient Adult Psychiatry

Penn Presbyterian has a 22-bed inpatient adult short-term psychiatric unit, which accepts all levels of diagnosis. We specialize in the treatment of patients with a co-occurring addiction problem secondary to the primary psychiatric problem. The unit is staffed by a physician, registered nurses, mental health technicians, addiction counselors and social workers.

Admissions are accepted 24 hours per day. For psychiatric evaluations call the Psychiatric Emergency Evaluation Center at 215-662-2121.

Sub Acute Adult Psychiatry
Penn Presbyterian also offers a residential step-down unit for individuals who do not require a locked unit for safety. This program accepts individuals from the acute service unit or referrals from outside agencies. The sub acute program also specializes in the treatment of individuals that have a co-occurring secondary addiction disorder. The unit is staffed by a physician, registered nurses, mental health technicians, social workers and addiction counselors.
