Intensive Inpatient and Outpatient Addiction Treatment

Penn Presbyterian offers a range of addiction treatment programs designed to meet the individual needs of each patient. Both inpatient and outpatient services are available. All programs incorporate individual and group counseling, psychoeducational sessions and family support. Participation in AA, NA or CA meetings is an integral part of the recovery process.

The Assessment Center provides an individualized assessment for the addicted person. Placement to the appropriate level of care, adhering to the guidelines of their healthcare provider. Both insured & non-insured individuals are welcome for assessment.


Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The mission of the outpatient program is to provide the best possible care for addicted adults and their families. The program offers group psychotherapy, group psycho-educational & individual sessions. Treatment modalities consist of 12-step fellowship, cognitive and reality therapy. There is networking with community services and referrals to help the individual with the necessary skills to maintain sobriety.


Inpatient Unit: Medical Detoxification and Addiction Rehabilitation

The 12 Steps of AA are applied in a variable length of stay inpatient program that provides intensive treatment & medical support during the difficult first stages of the recovery process.

Counseling Services
Individual counseling, Psycho-educational group sessions, Reality & Cognitive behavioral therapy groups, Individualized After Care planning, Family sessions, Life Skills education that teach coping skills & stress management, Case Management Liaison & referrals including but not limited to: GED referrals, transitional/recovery house placement, follow-up with criminal justice contacts & DHS contacts, Introduction to Twelve Step programs including AA , NA and family support groups, Addiction Treatment Alumni offer continued support for the recovering person.

Nursing Services
The In-Patient Addiction Treatment Unit offers excellent nursing care using evidence-based practice.

  • Close monitoring of withdrawal symptoms through medication management
  • Supporting & empowering patients through group education & one-to-one sessions
  • Continued support & treatment of ongoing medical problems
  • Encouraging life style changes, such as smoking cessation, daily exercise & healthy dietary choices
