Dr. Drobatz received his veterinary degree from the University of California at Davis in 1985 and a Masters of Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and he is a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He has been Director of the Emergency Service at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital since 1991 and recently became the Chief of the Section of Critical Care in 2006. He has collaborated on numerous clinical research projects primarily involving common small animal veterinary emergency conditions and more specific conditions such as trauma, electrolyte emergencies and respiratory emergencies.
