Benjamin Abella, MD MPhil.

Dr. Abella studies cardiac arrest and post-resuscitation injury, in both animal models and the clinical setting. Specifically, he is interested in CPR quality and outcomes from in-hospital cardiac arrest. Dr. Abella is currently a participant in an international consortium to study audio feedback during CPR to improve resuscitation performance and thereby patient survival. He is also interested in post-resuscitation injury processes such as free radical production and apoptosis, and studies these phenomena in a mouse model of cardiac arrest. Finally, Dr. Abella is involved in the study of therapeutic hypothermia to treat cardiac arrest victims.
