Jesse Pines, MD    

Jesse M. Pines, MD, MBA is a Lecturer and Associate Director of Health Care Policy Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pines recently completed his fellowship in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently completing his MSCE degree (Epidemiology).  He was funded for two years through the Centers for Education and Research in Therapeutics. His research focuses on emergency department crowding, administration, and quality of care. Dr Pines is the 2006-7 recipient of the Emergency Medicine Foundation Riggs Family / Health Policy Grant from the American College of Emergency Physicians; the purpose of the grant is to develop a new measure of emergency department crowding. He is also involved in a number of studies investigating pneumonia care in the emergency department.
