Mission of Recovery at Penn Medicine

Recovery at Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is dedicated to the recovery efforts of our patients. Through the utilization of innovative and evidence-based interventions, our knowledgeable staff is able to function as beacons of hope for those seeking to establish and maintain abstinence from alcohol, drugs, and/or compulsive gambling.

As a patient at our clinic, you will have the unique opportunity to take advantage of the University of Pennsylvania’s world renowned expertise in addiction research, education and treatment. Your case will be managed discretely and confidentially, with a focus on your individual strengths and goals, by our addiction treatment professionals.

The program consists of a comprehensive assessment of your presenting concerns, group and individual counseling sessions, and connections to resources that will benefit you on your journey through recovery.

Drug and Alcohol Assessment

Entering addiction treatment may seem daunting, but we are here to help. When arriving for your initial appointment, you will have the opportunity to meet our Program Director, discuss the program and then decide whether or not you wish you to proceed with starting treatment. If you wish to be admitted a relaxed but structured individual session will assess your needs and you will receive a treatment recommendation. Learn more...

Group Counseling

Our small group sizes ensure that your voice is heard. The group setting provides valuable support for recovery efforts while allowing for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Groups include an array of discussion topics and activities that are focused on education, skill building and support. Specialty groups may be available for certain professions and lifestyles. Individual Counseling

One on one sessions involving you and your therapist provide you the opportunity to develop your individualized treatment plan. These sessions also feature dialog geared towards gauging your progress, addressing your individual recovery needs and engaging family members in your recovery if so desired.
