University Supported Software Products
Computing software which has been recommended by
Information
Systems & Computing (ISC) for general-purpose campus-wide
use. These recommendations are based on extensive testing and evaluation
by technical teams representing both the ISC and the School of Medicine
as well as other University Schools.
Please beware that many University and School of Medicine web-based
applications will not work with browsers other than those found on
the supported products page. Using the latest versions of web browsers

Obtaining University Site-licensed Software
The
Office of Software Licensing negotiates and administers software
site licenses and volume discounts programs at Penn, and distributes
licenses and media for those programs. Departments, faculty, and staff
(and in some cases, students) can purchase this software at significant
savings.
University Supported Hardware Products
Information Systems & Computing (ISC), in consultation with
the Penn community, annually publishes
recommendations
for new desktop computers. These recommendations reflect institutional
and industry trends but do not necessarily take into account the computing
needs of specific schools or departments. They should therefore be
viewed as one of several important considerations informing purchasing
decisions, rather than as the sole basis for strategic computing decisions.
Computer Connection
The
computer
store owned and operated by the University offers academic pricing
on many hardware and software products.
Computer Fixer
Warranty
repairs available on campus.
Health System Computing Support
The Health System maintains its own computing support group
for those on
UPHSNet and within hospital buildings.
