Please be advised that HUP Physical Plant will be repairing part of the emergency electrical power system during the week of January 23, 2017, per the schedule below:

Monday, January 23, 2017; preparation.
Tuesday, January 24, 2017; re-feeding individual and group items of load on TRC-11 and 12.
Wednesday, January 25, 2017; replace electrical components.
Thursday, January 26, 2017; returning to emergency power on TRC-11 and 12.
Friday, January 27, 2017; returning to emergency power on TRC-10.

NOTICE:Fire Alarm System: BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH BUILDING

Advisory:
Please be advised that testing of the fire alarm system will be conducted on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 and Wednesday, January 25, 2017 between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00am both days. Building occupants WILL NOT be required to leave the building during this time. You may hear multiple alarms during the duration of this test.

NOTICE:Update: DI Water: BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH BUILDING

Advisory:
The DI water system for BRB continues to be shut down for the near term. AHA Consulting Engineers and West Chester Mechanical Inc. have performed an investigation of this system and are working on a number of recommendations on a course of action. Next week FRES plumbers will be removing certain highly specialized critical components on each floor to send them to a factory in California. In addition, plumbing work is scheduled for the 13th floor on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

In order to alleviate the need for DI water, arrangements have been made to provide some point of use systems which will produce both type 1 and type 2 water, carboys are also available for lab use. DI water is available for general use: CRB-220, CRB-372; and in BRB-1332 (a new Millipore unit).

To help address the need for glass washing a number of location are available in SoM buildings for lab use:

Please be advised that there will be an emergency steam outage today Wednesday, January 18, 2017 starting at 5:00 pm and lasting until about 9:00 pm. During this steam outage there will be no building heat, reheat, hot domestic water, or steam to Autoclaves, Sterilizers, and Glass Washers. This outage is necessary to repair a steam leak.

During this time emergency power outlets in the areas stated below will be OFF. The emergency outlets are RED in color and can be identified in the lab with the nomenclature: ERP-N-xxx; ERP means emergency receptacle panel, N means the North emergency electrical system, and xxx is a unique identifier to indicate the individual circuit. Normal power will remain ON and unaffected.
