Please be advised that the Stellar-Chance Laboratory building is scheduled for re-commissioning of its HVAC systems as follows:

Dates: From Monday, February 22, 2016 through Friday, February 26, 2016.
Times: Each day between 6:00 am and 8:00 am.

This re-commissioning project is designed to test and measure various systems within the building to insure continued building operations. General ventilation and exhaust will continue, you may notice a varying noise level. Fume hoods in the affected area may go into alarm.

EHRS Directive:
No lab work may be conducted in the affected areas during this time very brief time period. Please cap and close all containers; and lower the fume hood sash when leaving on the prior work day.

Please be advised that on Tuesday evening, February 9, 2016 between 6:00 pm and 2:00 am Wednesday morning the domestic hot and cold water; and steam will be shut down. During this outage there will be no steam for heat, reheats, autoclaves, sterilizers, and glass washers. These outages are necessary to make necessary repairs to building systems.

No laboratory work with chemical, biological or radioactive materials; or animals is permitted during this shutdown. Water will be unavailable for restrooms, laboratory, and emergency irrigation.

Please be advised that the project to replace the building reheat system in Johnson Pavilion has started. It is necessary to remove this system from operation for the next two weeks in order to replace critical piping sections. The main air handling units will be adjusted to compensate for this outage as much as possible; individual room temperatures may be cooler than usual.
