Students are encouraged to participate in certificate activities during MS1 but only need to declare a final commitment at the beginning of MS3. However, Certificate Leaders would welcome hearing of your interest prior to your MS3 year, so you may email them.

Certificate in Community Health - Bridging the Gaps option

This certificate program links the training of health and social service professionals with the provision of health-related service to underserved communities.

Requirements:

Bridging the Gaps: Community Health Internship Program (BTG CHIP)
7 week summer internship

Bridging the Gaps Seminar Series
Attendance at 6 BTG Seminars between first year and January of fourth year (for schedule and topics see www.bridgingthegaps.info).

One Month Elective (choice of 3 sites)
Covenant House
Newcomers Health
Living Independently for Frail Elderly (LIFE)

Scholarly Pursuit
At a BTG clinical site (see above)

Certificate in Community Health - Sayre Clinic option

This certificate program integrates collaborative care and learning while providing health education and community service.

Requirements:

Choice of one of the two 7 week options below (typically done in the summer between the 1st and 2nd years):
