Description of Project

I spent this past summer working as an administrative intern for Pat Sullivan the Vice President of Patient Safety and Quality for UPHS and Neil Fishman the Assistant Chief Medical Officer for UPHS.  While the general focus of my summer was to gain a better understanding of hospital administration my main focus was to closely analyze the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's (HUP) sepsis mortality rate and to begin to implement a quality initiative focused on lowering this rate.

Payment/Stipend

I did not receive funding in the form of a scholarship or grant but I was paid hourly.
