Community-Based Training in Cognitive Therapy (Dissemination of Cognitive Therapy)

This is an exploratory, mixed-methods study are to (a) to examine the use of CT among therapists who have received training in a CT for suicide prevention protocol as a part of a community-based effectiveness study, and (b) to assess individual and organizational factors that are associated with the use, or decision not to use CT in therapists’ practice.
Needs Assessment and Readiness Analysis of Community-Based Mental Health Agencies in Philadelphia

The aims of this study are (a) to conduct a large-scale assessment of the organizational climate, culture, and readiness for change within city mental health agencies, (b) to assess potential barriers and incentives for the sustained use of cognitive therapy (CT) in urban mental health agencies, (c) to determine which centers to target regarding collaboration in future research that will examine the dissemination of an empirically supported therapy, and (d) to explore the relationship between organizational context, therapist attitudes, and agency factors such as attrition rates and staff turnover.
