Research Interests

I am interested in studying human population history of East Africa populations, specifically those of northern Kenya, southern Sudan and southern Ethiopia. East Africa is thought to be the cradle of humanity and as such, hold a lot of unexploited information about human origins and migrations. For my Ph.D. work, I am using an interdisciplinary approach incorporating genetics, cultural anthropology, and linguistics to answer an array of questions regarding human evolution and the population history of ethnically diverse East African populations.
