The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, National Institute on Drug Abuse, and National Cancer Institute are proud to fund the NIH Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Centers initiative.

The PENN Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC) is one of seven academic research centers across the United States dedicated to studying new ways to combat tobacco use and nicotine addiction.   Each TTURC is conducting collaborative research on a different tobacco related research theme, including studies in culture, genetics, innovative treatments, and tobacco policy. By using this transdisciplinary method to combine knowledge, TTURC research will broaden perspectives and close gaps in knowledge and understanding of tobacco dependence.
