Sarah McGuire, Ph.D. is a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Division of Sleep and Chronobiology,  Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. McGuire received her B.S. in Applied Physics from Northern Illinois University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. As a graduate student she developed a model for predicting changes in sleep due to aircraft noise.  

Dr. McGuire was awarded the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration Centers of Excellence Outstanding Student of the Year in 2007, was an Amelia Earhart Fellowship recipient in 2008, and received the Leo Beranek Student Medal for excellence in the study of noise control in 2011.
