Patti Lipschutz, M.S.N.

Patti Lipschutz earned her RN at Philadelphia General Hospital, her BA and BSN at Widener University and her MSN at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Nursing. She was a highly regarded member of the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital nursing staff for six years while working in the Young Adult Unit.

Patti Lipschutz moved to the University of Pennsylvania Psychiatric Service and remained there five years before returning to training as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is board certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.

After her exposure to severely ill anorexic and bulimic patients on the inpatient service, Patti Lipschutz decided to pursue specialization in the treatment of eating disorders. She moved to the outpatient setting and for the next fifteen years worked with Dr. Michael Pertschuk at Philadelphia Psychological Services.

She is currently working on the Look AHEAD Study, a NIH sponsored Study looking at the relationship between obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
