Karen J. Lecks, MSN, CRNP
Karen J. Lecks is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and clinical research nurse coordinator in the area of infertility and reproductive health. She received her B.A. in 1980 from Penn State University, her B.S. in Nursing in 1992 from Pace University and her M.S. in Nursing in 1996 from the University of Pennsylvania.
Karen is a clinical nurse coordinator for a research study which involves weight loss and lifestyle modification prior to attempting to achieve pregnancy in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
In 2012, Ms. Lecks joined the staff at the Albert J. Stunkard Weight Management Program, where she monitors the medical care of the patients attending weight loss sessions.
She has also worked in the field of HIV prevention research within the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania where she performed gynecological examinations and colposcopy for an NIH-sponsored vaginal microbicide trial.
Karen has provided gynecology services for women across the lifespan, including, family planning and health education. She has been an instructor for medical students and nurse practitioner students in the technique of performing gynecologic examinations.
