Rotations

  1. Basic Treatment Planning Rotation: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with all basic aspects of radiotherapy simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery.
  2. Advanced Treatment Planning Rotation: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with theoretical and practical aspects of highly conformal radiotherapy treatment plans, special treatment planning techniques and treatment delivery.
  3. Imaging Rotation: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with theoretical and practical aspects of CT, CT/PET and MR simulation and other imaging modalities.
  4. Beam Data, QA&QC, Radiation Safety Rotation: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with theoretical and practical aspects of TPS commissioning, machine and patient QA and radiation safety in a radiation therapy department.
  5. Brachytherapy and Special Procedures Rotation at PCAM: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with theoretical and practical aspects of brachytherapy and special procedures (TBI, SRS, SRT).
  6. Special Procedure Rotation at Pennsylvania Hospital: Gamma knife, Cyberknife, Brachytherapy: Residents will rotate to Pennsylvania Hospital to receive training on gamma knife, cyberknife and brachytherapy.
  7. Clinical Practicum Rotation at PCAM: In this rotation the resident will perform Medical Physicist duties in the Department of Radiation Oncology at PCAM.
  8. Network Clinical Rotation: In this rotation the resident will perform Medical Physicist duties at a network facility.
  9. Proton Rotation: The purpose of this rotation is to familiarize the resident with the treatment planning, machine and patient QA.
