Description of Clinical Expertise

Disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis with a focus on hemophilia and inhibitor development as well as laboratory diagnosis of coagulation disorders.

Description of Research Expertise

My laboratory studies the development of neutralizing alloantibodies ("inhibitors") in hemophilia. We are interested in improving the understanding of the drivers of inhibitor development with a current focus on pathways that regulate B and T cell development in the evolving immune response with the goal to leverage these findings to identify new therapies to prevent and/or treat inhibitors. Additionally, the lab is pursuing collaborative work to understand antibodies that complicate delivery of hemophilia gene therapy. Finally, in my capacity as Assistant Director of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Special Coagulation Laboratory, I am interested in identifying clinical factors that improve laboratory diagnostic pathways for patients with hemostatic and thrombotic disorders.
