Description of Research Expertise

Currently contributing clinical data to:
1) The Ivy League Concussion Registry
2) The Ivy League-Big Ten Epidemiology of Concussion Study

Description of Clinical Expertise

Through my Student Health practice, I specialize in the care of the young adult (ages 17-35, primarily), including diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and injuries, as well as management of chronic disease such as mental health conditions, eating disorders, cardiovascular, and endocrine conditions.

Preventative health and public health measures are frequently addressed through counseling as part of travel consultations, planning mass influenza vaccination efforts, and executing TB screening programs.

Teaching our patients about self-care and how to be efficient health care consumers is an important part of my practice style.

Lastly, our SHS Sports Medicine practice focuses on keeping this very active population moving by addressing their numerous acute and chronic musculoskeletal concerns.

I have developed a particular interest and clinical expertise in the diagnosis, management, and study of concussions in young adults (a population which presented with over 250 head injury cases in the last academic year!) The treatment of each case is nuanced and treatment standards are changing year-to-year.
