Description of Clinical Expertise

Dr. Sudheendra (aka Dr. Sudi) is an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology & Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania - Perelman School of Medicine.

He is one of the leading experts in the country on the endovascular treatment & management of venous disease & minimally invasive cancer treatments. His primary areas of expertise include:
• Acute & chronic DVT
• Post thrombotic syndrome (PTS)
• May Thurner syndrome
• Minimally invasive cancer treatments for primary liver cancer &
metastatic disease to the liver
• Chronic venous insufficiency & varicose veins
• Complex IVC filter retrieval

In addition, Dr. Sudheendra has expertise in surgical critical care medicine – a unique skillset possessed by few IRs practicing today.

Dr. Sudheendra's practice philosophy is centered on a doctor-patient relationship based on integrity, mutual respect, compassion, & education. He firmly believe that patients must have a clear understanding of their medical condition & treatment plan in order to achieve the very best outcomes. Description of Research Expertise

Primary Investigator at UPenn for NIH funded multi-center randomized controlled trial evaluating the use of endovascular therapy in patients with advanced post thrombotic syndrome (PTS) from deep vein thrombosis.
