Description of Itmat Expertise

Cardiac Function
Arterial Stiffness

Description of Other Expertise

Artificial intelligence and machine learning. Use of machine learning in prediction of morbidity and complications during inter-stage follow up of single ventricle patients.

Use of artificial intelligence in auto measurement of cardiac function (ejection fraction and longitudinal strain).

Use of machine learning in separating innocent heart murmurs in children from pathologic murmurs.

Description of Research Expertise

My research interest is in evaluation of cardiac function using new, technology, like speckle tracking imaging for evaluating cardiac strain and torsion. Presently I am using a newer concept known as principal strain, which is an integration of deformations that occur in multiple directions. Principal strain may detect changes in myofiber orientation produced by diseased states.
