Dr. Gross was recognized for committing effort to training emerging international scholars over and above his robust domestic and international research portfolios and leadership efforts as Penn CFAR Co-Director. He was commended for a career that\u00a0propels\u00a0new\u00a0discoveries while also helping our\u00a0partner\u00a0countries\u00a0attain their goals\u00a0of research independence and,\u00a0ultimately, improved\u00a0health outcomes.<\/p>\n
Robert\u00a0has mentored a\u00a0range of health professionals including physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, dieticians, midwives,\u00a0laboratory\u00a0research\u00a0assistants,\u00a0and mobile\u00a0health informatics\u00a0specialists. It is especially noteworthy\u00a0that\u00a0he\u00a0continues to\u00a0mentor\u00a0many of these trainees as they\u00a0advance in\u00a0their careers and various leadership\u00a0roles\u00a0within the country’s academic and health sectors. The\u00a0breadth and\u00a0depth of his\u00a0efforts will undoubtedly be felt well\u00a0into\u00a0Botswana’s future as these\u00a0leaders serve as role models for the generations\u00a0that follow.<\/p>\n
