Penn's Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy offers a series of six online courses for professional development in health care innovation throughout the year. Courses are pass/fail, allowing you to focus on practical learning. Complete four in one year to earn a Professional Development Certificate in Health Care Innovation.

Take courses taught by internationally recognized leaders in the areas of health policy, behavioral economics, operations management, and health care innovation. The program brings together Penn faculty from the Perelman School of Medicine, the Wharton School, the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics, and the Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation. A new course begins every other month, so you can match your studies to your schedule and interests.

Health Care Innovation courses are designed to enable learners to do the following:
- Better position reforms or innovations in your organization based on national trends and emerging regulations.
- Enable a health care organization to improve its operations.
- Design new approaches to strategies affected by health behavior.
- Apply common empirical research methodologies to policy and program analysis.
- Lead high-impact innovation efforts in and beyond health care settings.
- Analyze interactions between the players in a health care market, using economic frameworks and models.

You can register for Penn's online Professional Development courses in Health Care Innovation today. Sign up for individual courses or commit to earning a Professional Development Certificate in Health Care Innovation by successfully completing four courses in one year. If you enroll in the Certificate in advance, you will receive access to an exclusive Health Care Innovation Professional Development site, where you can preview courses, connect with other learners, and stay current on issues. Physician Leadership Academy is a three-module program that occurs in-person on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The program, an educational partnership between Deloitte Consulting, the University of Pennsylvania’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, and Wharton Executive Education is for senior-level practicing physicians who have taken on increasing levels of responsibility in their careers and aspire to be enterprise-wide leaders.
