Remoting to your PMACS or Windows Computer

*Please note that these instructions are for staff to access their on premises Windows computer remotely from a Windows or Mac machine.  Mac to Mac connectivity is not currently supported.

Consider your needs before contacting an LSP.  Email, PennBox and most web based applications are available without VPN access. 

You will need to use the VPN Service (Pulse Secure) for the following cases when you are off campus only:

• Access to Lab FileShares
• Access to Lab Servers
• Remote Desktop Connection to a desktop on campus only.

You will NOT need the VPN Service (Pulse Secure) for the following cases when you are off campus:

• Accessing your email
• Accessing UPENN Websites
• Knowledge Link, WorkDay, ARIES, etc.
• Browse the internet
• Browsing for files on Penn+Box
