MOVEMENT DISORDERS

Movement disorders involve a change in the motor system other than weakness.  This may involve an involuntary movement, gait disorder, or stiffness.  Traditionally, all movement disorders have been grouped with Parkinson's disease.  We now know that many movement disorders, including Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Syndrome, are often associated with tau, the same misfolded protein that is found in FTD.
