Every day urinary incontinence (UI) affects the jobs of direct care staff and the lives of those in their care. This module identifies the major chronic types of urinary incontinence: Urge/Overactive bladder, Stress, Overflow, Functional and Mixed Cases. Some situations of UI are very complex; this module helps direct care staff learn how to handle challenging cases like dealing with older adults with dementia, inappropriate toileting, denial of incontinence, chronic constipation and unsafe attempts to toilet. The overall goal is to help direct care staff learn effective ways to prevent or reduce episodes of UI in elderly persons and enhance the dignity of those in their care. This module was developed to help you achieve and maintain the best possible levels of continence in elderly persons and increase dignity with quality of life. Our goal is to help you learn effective ways to prevent or reduce episodes of UI in elderly persons and enhance the dignity of those in your care.
