Bio statement
Kevin Braat, MD, graduated from Bucknell University with a BA in Chemistry in 1994, the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. Kevin is currently a partner with ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP and practices general otolaryngology in Southampton, New York.
For more than 10 years, Kevin has been associated with several humanitarian groups providing health care in a variety of settings in Africa and South America. Kevin’s global health interests are now focused on supplementing local resources, providing surgical equipment and supplies, and physician training in Kitwe, Zambia and Guyana, South America. He is currently involved with training a Guyanese otolaryngologist in Georgetown, Guyana.
Recent global health projects
Kitwe, Zambia: Over past 10 years, I have traveled to Kitwe annually for 1-2 week mission trips providing medical/surgical care, hospital and physician training, ENT/Audiology equipment/supplies.
Guyana: Over the past 4 years, I have traveled annually for 1 week mission trips providing medical/surgical care, hospital and physician training, ENT equipment and supplies. I am working with a Canadian otolaryngologist to help train the first Guyanese otolaryngologist.
