Bio statement

Dr. Laura Vanderbloemen is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at VinUniversity in Vietnam. She is co-PI for the VinCohort Study, in partnership with Vinmec Healthcare. She leads the Epidemiology and Research Methods courses for the CHS. Before joining the Faculty she led Imperial College London’s Research Design team via a collaborative project led by King’s College London, in partnership with Imperial, UCL, and Queen Mary University of London, providing study design guidance to National Health Service (NHS) staff, scientists, and health technology companies focused on improving patient and public health through applied health research

Recent global health projects

Most recently, I co-led the VinCohort Study, a longitudinal study of approximately 50,000 adults and their families in Vietnam. Before joining the faculty at VinUniversity, I started a Refugee Health research group which is working with the Cochrane Library to publish a Cochrane Systematic Review of community-based interventions that support the mental health and wellbeing of refugees in resettlement countries.
