Micro-CT Imaging Core

Scheduling and Training

Please acknowledge the funding source of Micro-CT imaging Core: Penn Center for Musculoskeletal Disorders (NIH/NIAMS P30 AR069619).

For New Users

Anyone who wishes to use both ┬ÁCT 35 and vivaCT 40 must read the Policy page first, which lists the details of scheduling and cancellation policies. Before you start using the Micro-CTs, you MUST contact Dr. X. Sherry Liu or Wei-Ju Louis Tseng to sign up for training. The training for scanning and analysis usually takes about one and half hours total. If you have your samples ready for training that would be helpful. After training, you will be added to the Micro-CT Calendars and be able to do scheduling. When using Micro-CTs, if you notice any problems with the systems, please notify lab manager via email, cell or text message so the problem can be resolved as quickly as possible. If you need to use the scanners after hours or weekends you will be permitted once you show sufficient competency to use the scanners unsupervised.

Hours of Operation

New users will be trained between 9am and 5pm, when the core manager is available to assist. Please contact the core manager at least a week before you will need assistance, as Micro-CTs availability is limited.

Stemmler Hall Access

You are responsible for getting your own black key to get into the building. If you do not have one, you may submit the application form through your department or through Susan Dinella.
