Orthopedic Student Scholar Presentation Award

The Orthopaedic Student Scholar Presentation Award provides multiple $500-750 travel stipends for Penn medical students with the opportunity to present their research findings at a national orthopaedic surgery conference. Students are expected to explore other funding opportunities first, including talking to Suite 100 administration about Penn travel grants as well as looking into funding from the organization sponsoring the conference. Priority will be given to abstracts accepted at larger conferences such as AAOS, ORS, and primary subspecialty society meetings (POSNA, OTA, ASSH, etc.) as well as to more senior medical students. However, medical students from all years are encouraged to apply. Note that priority will also be given to those who have not won the award in the past.

Scholarship applicants are required to identify their role(s) on the project to be presented and upload both the abstract text as well as send the email confirming the abstract's acceptance to the conference to pennmed.llos@gmail.com.

Application decisions were released for this academic year. View this years awardees. Should you have any further questions, please email pennmed.llos@gmail.com.
