Navigating Troubled Waters to Optimal Health for All

This spring lecture with Dr. Derek Griffith discussed ways to name, address, and overcome some of the rhetorical and narrative barriers to the framing of persistently unjust differences in health outcomes, and argued that the work that needs to be done is not just in research, practice, and policy, but in ourselves as practitioners and researchers.

This work in progress examined implementation considerations for delivering long-acting HIV treatment for people with HIV with or without hepatitis B, including HBV screening and clinical management, vaccination strategies, and care pathway design.
Ali Ahmed, PhD is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. His work applies implementation science and mixed-methods research to strengthen HIV and hepatitis B care delivery, with a focus on practical strategies to improve access, quality, and equity.

This talk focused on tools and strategies specific to implementation science research. The presenters (PISCE Directors Dr. Courtney Wolk & Dr. Danielle Cullen, and PISCE Senior Fellow Dr. Molly Davis) shared practical tools they have developed or utilized in their own work, such as methods for tracking implementation strategies and adaptations, and tools for engaging implementation partners.
