Virtual Environment Management
- Manage and Configure VMware VCenter
- Provision virtual hosts/servers
- Optimize virtual environments
- Monitor virtualization
Networking Management
- Configure switches
- Provision switch ports
- Troubleshoot Ethernet network
- Configure firewalls
- Make rule changes in firewalls
Storage Management
- Configure fibre-channel switches
- Provision FC switch ports
- Troubleshoot FC fabric
- Configure storage arrays
- Provision storage LUNS for volume mounting
Data Management
- Backup servers
- Restore files
- Manage media
- Create and implement data integrity policies
Server Hardware and Software Administration
Managed Servers
- Maintain the operating system on the machine, including initial installation, security patching, and major upgrades
- Maintain environment on the system, including remote access and usage
- Manage all login access to the system
- Coordinate any changes to the system with the client to address any application testing or integration issues that may arise
- Monitor performance and make specific recommendations to improve efficiency
- Provide monitoring of the system for network connectivity, CPU, memory, and disk space utilization
Server–based Software Administration
- Software installation, upgrades or configuration changes
- Software license purchases and renewals
- Secure methods of file transfer with outside entities
- Developer support for teams utilizing our server environment
Client Application Support and Maintenance
- Manage shared server space for client projects
- Work with client project teams to meet hosting needs
- Perform any necessary changes to file permissions
- Work closely with the PMACS Infrastructure Team to provide thorough support for client applications
Data Services
- Install, maintain and optimize database instances
- Oracle, MySQL, MS–SQL and other supported platforms
- Create, manage and maintain data connections to internal and external systems oustide PMACS
- Hosting and management of data sets
- Development and implementation of data usage agreements
- Work with crossover PMACS Data Management team for internal database operations and creation of data policies
