National Postdoc Appreciation Week

The Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs (BPP) and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs (ATOP) have collaborated to honor postdocs during National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW). The celebration takes place September 19th—23rd 2022.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week: Ice Cream Social

UPenn/ CHOP is hosting a NPAW Ice Cream Social taking place in the Biomedical Research Building II/III, 14th Floor Lounge from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm. Take a break and connect with fellow postdocs over a scoop of ice cream or a delicious treat! Dairy free option will also be available.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week: Speed Networking with Postdoc Alumni
3:30 pm-6:00 pm

Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Pediatric Research Center, 123-ABC, 3615 Civic Center Blvd | Register HERE

This event will provide CHOP and Penn postdocs with the opportunity to have brief networking experiences with alumni from a variety of career paths. Groups of postdoctoral fellows will meet with multiple career professionals in a roundtable format over the course of 45 minutes. The goal is to provide participants with firsthand knowledge of various career options while networking with career professionals.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week: Combatting Imposter Syndrome Workshop

Imposter syndrome is a term that is used often these days, but what does it really mean? In this workshop, you will learn what imposter syndrome means, if you have it, and what are some things that contribute to it. You will also better understand what the five main competence types of imposter syndrome are and how you can combat it for yourself.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week: Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition Information Session

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a competition that challenges postdocs to communicate the significance of their research projects to a general audience in just 3 minutes. At this introductory session, Mallory Lopez, Principal Linguist at Language ConnectED, will go over the competition details and give some presentation tips! This session will be recorded.

This competition is open to all postdocs and PhD-level research staff. A virtual information session will be scheduled in October that is open to all eligible research staff.

National Postdoc Appreciation Week: BBQ Celebration
