Dr. John M. Yuhas

Dr. John M. YuhasDr. John M. Yuhas joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 when Dr. Robert Goodman was the chair of the department. He conducted research here and was building a laboratory team when he died in 1984. John received his Ph.D. in 1966 from the University of Maryland where he was the recipient of a N.A.S.A. Fellowship, and began his work in radiation research under a grant from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. He continued this research at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, and subsequently at The Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee. When the focus of his work began to concentrate in cancer therapy and carcinogenesis, he joined the Cancer Center at the University of New Mexico under Director Dr. Morton Kligerman. He left New Mexico, returning to his east coast roots and joining the University of Pennsylvania.
