Description of Research Expertise

326 Dr. Herrington is an Associate Professor in the Department of Child Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He directs the Emotion and Neurodiversity Laboratory, and is Co-Director of the Developmental Neuroimaging Program at CHOP's Center for Autism Research. Dr. Herrington's work focuses on social and emotional information processes in neurotypical and neurodiverse populations, with a particular emphasis on the co-occurrence of anxiety disorders in autism. His research examines the problem of anxiety in ASD across multiple levels of analysis, from neurobiological systems to clinical practice. Dr. Herrington has two active NIH grants focused on the identification of depression and anxiety symptoms using computer vision and computational linguistics.
