My research centers on improving animal welfare and focuses on refinements in animal care. Overall the goal is to identify interventions as part of laboratory animal veterinary practice that will be of benefit to animal species utilized in research modeling. Ongoing work evaluates aspects of genotyping methods, rodent surgery support, thermoregulation for rodents and humane endpoints.
