Description of Clinical Expertise

As a medical and radiation oncologist I have a proclivity towards further defining the role of chemoradiation in clinical practice, especially in the era of more conformal delivery techniques and targeted therapies. Feline medicine is of particular interest to me, specifically learning more about the molecular drivers of common feline cancers, as well as exploring felids unique radiobiological properties, thereby allowing us to better study, employ therapeutic strategies, and individually prognosticate. The interplay of radiation medicine, the tumor microenvironment and/or the immune system, is an area of research that I am passionate about engaging in and contributing to during my career. Clinically, lack of standardization and optimization of clinical protocols is something our specialty needs to work on. To prospectively optimize current protocols and test new protocols, standardization in data collection and reporting is paramount for our advancement as a specialty.
