Description of Research Expertise

Research Interests
Protein-protein interaction in acute lung injury

Key words
Oxidants, antioxidant enzymes, protein-protein interaction.

Research description
Prdx6 is a non-selenium GSH peroxidase that has an important role in anti-oxidant defense. Using in vitro assay and by liposome-mediated delivery of the two proteins into the cells, we have shown previously that the regeneration of Prdx6’s peroxidase activity requires piGST. Now, we plan to confirm this finding in cell culture studies using the Duolink Proximity Ligation Assay, siRNA knockdown, and co-transfection approaches.
