Description of Clinical Expertise

Fellowship trained orthopaedic oncologist specializing in complex limb salvage surgery around the hip/knee/shoulder/pelvis using metal prostheses, structural allografts/vascularized fibular grafts, and biologic reconstructions in skeletally immature patients.

Sees patients of all ages with benign/malignant soft tissue or bone tumors.

Sees patients with metastatic bone disease from other original sites (ie breast, prostate, lung, kidney, thyroid, etc).

Directs a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, radiation oncologists, and medical/pediatric oncologist to take care of patients with musculoskeletal tumors.

Diagnoses bone and soft tissue tumors using image-guided needle biopsies.

Description of Research Expertise

Specializes in murine models of bone metastasis from breast and kidney.

Additional expertise in osteosarcoma murine models studying local tumor growth in bone and metastasis to the lungs.

Focused on identifying unique molecular targets in both breast and renal cancer.

Utilizes novel drug therapies to treat bone destruction and systemic metastasis in breast and renal cancer murine models.
