Description of Research Expertise

335 Christopher Chesley, MD, MSCE is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine and a core faculty member at the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center. His research work focuses on using causal inference methods to characterize novel and actionable determinants of health disparities for historically marginalized patients with severe acute, critical, and pulmonary illness. Major focuses include understanding how socioeconomic disadvantage mechanistically contributes to poor care delivery and outcomes for the critically ill, quantifying care delivery disparities and impacts on health disparities, and using evidence-supported approaches to strategize hospital system-level solutions to promote equitable health outcomes.
