The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.
The successful candidates will be outstanding scientists who apply modern or innovative approaches to investigation of mechanisms of kidney biology or kidney disease. The ideal candidates will have a scientific expertise in an area such as molecular renal physiology, cellular and/or molecular biology, developmental biology of the urinary tract, tissue engineering, or human genetics.
The individuals are expected to devote approximately 80% of their total effort to research and have a record demonstrating promise of developing, growing and maintaining a leading, independently-funded laboratory. Responsibilities include participation in teaching and patient care activities in the faculty member’s clinical specialty and research program.
