With the sponsorship and collaboration of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) Study investigators will conduct a research workshop on July 13-14, 2017 on the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. The goal of this workshop is to expand the community of investigators capable of utilizing the research resources of the CRIC Study to engage in clinical research on chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Registration is limited and attendees must complete a brief application and be selected to attend. Registration deadline is April 28, 2017.
Attendees will learn about CRIC’s:
- data structure
- key findings
- approach to data analysis
The methodological and statistical tools necessary to analyze the CRIC data will be discussed through example. As well, a virtual data analysis laboratory will be used to demonstrate statistical approaches used to address analytical challenges.
Faculty for this workshop include:
- CRIC Study Investigators
- Epidemiologists, biostatisticians and analysts from the CRIC Scientific and Data Coordinating Center (SDCC)
- NIDDK Project Scientists and representatives of the NIDDK Data Repository
Attendees should have a desire to engage in chronic kidney disease research and prior training/experience in epidemiology or biostatistics. During the workshop attendees will learn how to access CRIC data either through the NIDDK Data Repository or through the CRIC Study’s Ancillary Study Program.
There is no registration fee and limited resources will be available to defray travel costs to the workshop.
