The Dolan Boyd Pritchett Honorary Lecture

Dolan Pritchett, Ph.D.Dolan Pritchett, Ph.D. was a beloved and respected member of the Departments of Pharmacology and Pediatrics. Dr. Pritchett was recruited to Penn in 1990, where he established himself as an innovative and imaginative young investigator. His work is likely to lead to major applications for the development of new therapeutic strategies for such neurologic disorders as epilepsy and stroke. He was an internationally recognized authority in the fields of neuroscience and molecular biology, with particular expertise in the ways in which nerve cells communicate with each other. He was a role model and a sought after teacher and mentor. Dr. Pritchett was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1991 and was scientifically productive until his death in December of 1994.
