About the Program

Nominated participants will amplify their awareness and application of the theory, tools, behaviors, and resources necessary to effectively impact the people, performance and productivity within their work teams. The following Intensive components are designed to support participants’ learning and development after the participants have fully completed the Fundamental or Advanced level:

This program will enable leaders to:

  • Develop and increase self-awareness of their strengths and opportunities in leading others.

  • Practice leadership skills that teach them how to use their personal talents for overall advantage of their groups.

  • Identify and implement the most appropriate leadership practice actions for their organization and the work that they do.

Program Structure

Leadership Essentials: Intensive is a blended learning experience combining in-person workshops with online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online. Throughout your Leadership Essentials Intensive journey, you will benefit from an online community, leadership dashboard, one-on-one coaching, skill-based practice workshops, self-assessments, and a capstone simulation.

All workshops and events have online assignments that must be completed prior to the event. These assignments will be available through Canvas and their purpose is to help you prepare for the practice workshop. All assignments are required and must be completed for successful program completion.

Each session is 3.5-hours and will focus on three topics: Communication & Team Building, Motivation, Leadership, and Influence, and Diversity and Inclusion. These workshops will give participants the opportunity to experience more in depth exploration of real time leadership challenges and problem solving.

Each small-group (5-6 participants) session is 2-hours and are powerful, structured discussions of common management and leadership challenges. In each session, participants will have the opportunity to work on real issues that are important to achieving results. This structured, facilitated interaction also supports the exchange of best practices while continuing to develop skills in self-awareness, effective presentation of ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and problem solving.

These 60-minute sessions will help participants integrate and apply the skills and material covered in the classroom sessions. Working individually allows the development process to become customized to each person’s experience level, situation and goals.

Simulations provide a planned, structured setting in which learning can be intensified, therefore the final requirement of the LE Intensive (LEI) Cohort experience is a culminating simulation event that encourages learners to think critically, solve challenging problems and further enhance the development of the skills studied and practiced throughout the intensive cohort experience. The LE Intensive simulation strives to help the LEI participants integrate lessons learned, workshop experiences, wisdom gleaned from peers and self-discovery and enhance their confidence and competence as leaders positively impacting people, performance and productivity.

The actual simulation is a full-day virtual event. Partnering with Wharton, the simulation will use Saturn Parable and will take place after the completion of the LEI requirements, prior to graduation.
