Biography:
Matthew B. Stern, M.D. is Director of the Parkinson's
Disease and Movement Disorders Center at the University
of Pennsylvania Health System located at Pennsylvania
Hospital. He is Professor of Neurology at the University
of Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. degreee from Harvard
University and M.D. degree from Duke University. He completed
his neurology training at the University of Pennsylvania
before founding the Parkinson's Disease and Movement
Disorders Center in 1982. The Center is now a National
Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence and has been
recognized with a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Citation
and Philadelphia City Council Resolution. Dr. Stern is
the editor or co-editor of three textbooks on Parkinson's
Disease and the author of numerous articles on Parkinson's
Disease and related disorders. He is on the consulting
and advisory boards of many pharmaceutical companies
and serves as a reviewer of neurology journals. He is
a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and serves
on its executive board of the Movement Disorders Section.
