Acute respiratory distress syndrome
Dr. Meyer’s research focuses on identifying genetic and molecular risk factors for acute respiratory distress syndrome and organ dysfunction during critical illness. She seeks to leverage genetic risk profiles to allow the development of personalized therapy for sepsis and ARDS. By directing a cohort of patients with severe sepsis, Dr. Meyer’s research spans the clinical, genetic, and molecular fields, translating human associations with lung injury into mechanistic insights as to how acute lung injury occurs, and transforming this enhanced understanding into improved care for patients.
