PhiladElphia PRogram FOR Mentored Research Training in Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic Diseases (PERFORM-KUH)
PERFORM-KUH is a comprehensive, Philadelphia-based program intended for trainees dedicated to building a research career focused on kidney, benign urology, and benign hematology science - across the lifespan. It provides an environment that enables training in state-of-the-art scientific principles and methodology, that encourages creativity, that guides professional development, and that provides mentoring and sponsorship facilitating independent career growth.
The program benefits from a scientifically diverse and accomplished faculty along with resources from Drexel, Temple, and Jefferson Universities, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to create a unique training experience. Beyond a focused, mentored research project with a laboratory or group, the trainee benefits from a comprehensive professional development program and a learning community dedicated to networking.
PERFORM-KUH is a part of the national Kidney Urology Hematology Research Training Network (KUHR-TN), "Network of Networks”. This collaborative community spans multiple institutions nationwide. While we provide unique and distinctive opportunities within our own program, we are also part of a larger network comprising similar NIH/NIDDK sponsored U2C-TL1 programs. This affiliation offers trainees access to a wide range of resources and opportunities.
Our trainees are provided a minimum of two years of salary support, receive PhD or Master of Science tuition where applicable, and are eligible for additional financial benefits.
Applications for the 3 pre-doc or 2 post-doc slots are currently being reviewed.
Send any questions to the Program Manager.
