Get Your HUP ID Badge

All incoming medical students will need to obtain a Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) ID badge. You can either submit a photo by email or visit the badging office in person.

Option 1: Submit Your Photo by Email (Recommended)
To save time, you can email a photo directly to the HUP badging office.

  • Subject line: Incoming Medical Student

Photo requirements:

  • Must be taken straight-on
  • Use a neutral, plain, solid light-colored background
  • Do not use a selfie, filters, or photo edits
  • Wear professional or business clothing

Option 2: Visit the Badging Office in Person
If you prefer not to send a photo by email, you can go in person.

  • Location: HUP Security Office, Silverstein Ground Floor (next to the staff entrance)
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm
  • What to bring: One valid government-issued photo ID
